Picture Post

It turns out that I’ve taken a lot of pictures the last few days (40. Oops.) Mason comes crawling as fast as he can to get the camera when I get it out, so when I want him away from something I whip out the camera. Sneaky, no? No? Oh well, it’s fun to see him run/crawl across the room.

Mason turned 7 months old last week. Whoa, that happened fast. We’ve had to drop his mattress down twice this week since he’s pulling himself up on everything. He woke up at 3am the other day and he was standing, pushing buttons on his mobile, which turns on music, lights, and the actual mobile. Every morning at 7:30 when we go into his room to get him out of his crib we find him kneeling or standing at the end closest to us, just smiling. It’s cute, but I’d rather not find him on the floor after he flings himself outta there. Hopefully he doesn’t get too mad that he can’t get to the top anymore. We’ll see.

Since he’s started pulling himself up he’s keeping us on our toes. I move the dog bowls daily, we had to move the microwave cart out of the kitchen, he pulls himself up on the tv stand (new one comes next month, free of open glass shelves like ours now!), the coffee and end tables, the couch, me, Nathan, the dogs… You get the point. Kid gets around. Nathan plopped him down in his room the other day so he could run downstairs and Mason went straight to his bookshelf. Guess we have to anchor that in. Sheesh.

Here are some pictures. Will I narrate them for you? Why yes, yes I will.

This is the toy Mason pushes everywhere; his go-to toy. It has 4 different settings, including one where every button he pushes plays different music; and one that does spanish too. Maybe I’ll learn something.

Baby Mason 001

Why yes, mother, I DO want my toy thankyouverymuch.

Baby Mason 002

Here’s a tongue picture just for you, Great Granny! Probably more than half of these have his tongue hanging out. : )

Baby Mason 003

Look how cute I am!

Baby Mason 004

I like to read the paper. Technically, I’m on the toilet.  I’m learning young.

Baby Mason 005

This here’s my buddy Bruno. Bosco doesn’t pose in pictures with me because he is a nutcase. Oops, you caught me off guard.

Baby Mason 007

Bruno likes it when I play near him. He can’t wait till we can run together.

Baby Mason 008

Bruno’s sad that I’m crawling away from him. Oh well, I’ve got things to do.

Baby Mason 009

Look at me, looking all funky. And cute. I’m cute, right? I dressed up just for you!

Baby Mason 010

See? Here I am closer! Just for you!

Baby Mason 011

I’m the best drooler this side of the Mississippi.

Baby Mason 012

Mom, put the camera down.

Baby Mason 013

Yes, these are pretty much all the same, but I couldn’t pick the “best” cause they’re all just so darn cute.

Baby Mason 016

Here’s my toy again, OH, and my tongue. There’s my photo album with all my family in it!

Baby Mason 017

Wait, that’s a camera! I want to drool on it!

Baby Mason 018

Ready for my close up?? Okay then.

Baby Mason 019

My John Deere socks are falling off, but I don’t care, I like to crawl.

Baby Mason 021

Slightly devious smile, complete with tongue. <Goodness, I love this kid.>

Baby Mason 022

Nope, no dog bowls here. Mom took them away because I drag them around and sometimes chew them.

Baby Mason 023

No I didn’t just lick a dog bowl. I swear.

Baby Mason 025

Anyone bored yet? Me either.

Baby Mason 026

I can’t help it if I’m always smiling. The crazy lady behind the camera is making funny faces.

Baby Mason 028

That’s right, all the cool babies have puppy faces on their patoots. I like to play with newspapers.

Baby Mason 029

And the Wii controller. Don’t worry, mom watches so I don’t get tangled up.

Baby Mason 030

This is where mom finds me a lot. Eating the tv stand. It tastes like dust. <Seriously, this makes the kid so happy. He gets there himself! He’s just started pushing the dvd and dvr buttons, so we have to be a bit more careful.>

Baby Mason 032

Nope, not doing anything over here. Quit looking at me.

Baby Mason 033

Just kidding! Lots of fun is going on!

Baby Mason 034

Look how funny my tongue is!

Baby Mason 037

My first taste of real turkey! (Not the pureed stuff) Ground turkey mixed with sweet potatoes… yummy.

Baby Mason 038

Whoa.

Baby Mason 039

Mom picked this picture because of my seefood. Hahaha I ate the sweet potatoes off the turkey, then munched on the turkey for a bit. Look at me, growing up.

Baby Mason 040

Okay, okay, YES that was a lot of pictures. But I had a lot to make up for. Sorry, guys. Life with an almost toddler is busy. I have to use to computer during nap times because Mason wants to play with anything electronic (my phone, the computer, the tower heater in the living room…) Plus with him crawling everywhere and climbing up everything, I have to keep my eye on him all.the.time. Maybe one day the whole place will be padded and everything will be cleared off of the coffee and end tables and I won’t have to worry. But until then, you know I’m standing behind him any time he tries to stand up near anything sharp/glass/any corners/things he can bump his head on/everything in general. Gotta keep this kid safe while he’s learning! Of course, I do let him fall on the ground, and bump into certain things so he’ll learn, and when he starts to get upset after falling we laugh together (Mason and I, not Nathan and I; that’s just mean).

Alright, I hope you enjoyed ALL the pictures. Whew, this is a long one.

Mason is 6 months old!

Oops, that happened 9 days ago.

Oh well, he didn’t even know it happened. But we did sing him a “Happy 6 month Birthday” song : ) Not sure if we even took pictures… we must be bad parents.

Mason’s been having dinner with us every night, and we’ve just started him on lunches as well. His loves are carrots, sweet potato and apples, and he currently hates all things green. I whipped up a massive amount of baby food for him during naps so I don’t have to make any for another month or two; unless all he eats are the apples, carrots, and sweet potatoes… though we’re getting pretty good at hiding the peas and green beans in the foods he likes. I made some zucchini and asparagus, but I’ve yet to try to force that on him. Maybe I’ll make Nathan do it. : )

Mason has started scooting around everywhere, not just rolling anymore. He hasn’t figured out that he needs to move his arms yet, so he pretty much just flops onto the ground right now, but it’s movement, and it’s cute.

Okay, okay, here are some pictures.

Don’t worry, Nathan’s hair is cut, so he doesn’t look like a bum anymore. Just focus on the sleeping baby.

Baby Mason 002

This is not a hat (or a book, mom) It’s a stacking toy! On Mason’s head! Anyone else finding it as funny as us? No? Oh well.

Baby Mason 003Baby Mason 004

Heehee.

Baby Mason 005Baby Mason 006

Mason rolled over to Bruno last night. “Hiya, buddy!”

Baby Mason 007

Don’t they look so happy together? Bosco couldn’t be trusted to hang out in their little group, so he’s sitting by the couch sulking.

Baby Mason 008Baby Mason 009

“I want to eat your fur!”

Baby Mason 010

“Sayonara sucker.”

Baby Mason 011

His 6 month appointment went well- except for the shots.

He’s 17 lbs 9 oz, and 26 3/4 inches long- which are both in the 65th percentile. He’s getting so big on us! Guess that’s what happens, but it’s still pretty darn fast and we’re just not ready for it.

Hopefully I’ll take more pictures soon : )

We’re back!

Our “vacation” home went pretty well- Mason slept most of the plane rides (thank goodness) and that made it pretty nice. I brought my camera along, but unfortunately forgot to take pictures most of the time. I suppose it’s okay because other people took lots of pictures for us! I just wish Mason hadn’t have caught a cold… he’s just stopped the coughing, but his little nose is still a bit runny.

He is so close to crawling, and he can <almost> sit up by himself. He sits pretty well, which makes bath time SO much easier!

Anyway, here are some pictures:

Mason’s Christmas presents from us; he was happy in his bouncer, so that’s where he stayed.

After bath time : )

Baby Mason 036

Mason turns 6 months old in 9 days- I can’t believe it’s been 6 months already. He’s getting so big, we’re looking forward to seeing the differences from his 4 month checkup to his 6 month checkup.

Also, he’s been sleeping about 12 hours straight every night! He also just slept 1.5 hours in his crib for a nap! Now I can get sleep at night and get things done during the day. Another exciting bit of news (for us, anyway) is that we’ve been having family dinners at the table with Mason. He’s tried squash, green beans, and carrots so far, and he loves it! Of course, he normally gets a bath afterward because he is such a messy eater, but it’s so cute we don’t care.

Until next time!
