Mason is 6 months old!

Oops, that happened 9 days ago.

Oh well, he didn’t even know it happened. But we did sing him a “Happy 6 month Birthday” song : ) Not sure if we even took pictures… we must be bad parents.

Mason’s been having dinner with us every night, and we’ve just started him on lunches as well. His loves are carrots, sweet potato and apples, and he currently hates all things green. I whipped up a massive amount of baby food for him during naps so I don’t have to make any for another month or two; unless all he eats are the apples, carrots, and sweet potatoes… though we’re getting pretty good at hiding the peas and green beans in the foods he likes. I made some zucchini and asparagus, but I’ve yet to try to force that on him. Maybe I’ll make Nathan do it. : )

Mason has started scooting around everywhere, not just rolling anymore. He hasn’t figured out that he needs to move his arms yet, so he pretty much just flops onto the ground right now, but it’s movement, and it’s cute.

Okay, okay, here are some pictures.

Don’t worry, Nathan’s hair is cut, so he doesn’t look like a bum anymore. Just focus on the sleeping baby.

This is not a hat (or a book, mom) It’s a stacking toy! On Mason’s head! Anyone else finding it as funny as us? No? Oh well.

Heehee.

Mason rolled over to Bruno last night. “Hiya, buddy!”

Baby Mason 007

Don’t they look so happy together? Bosco couldn’t be trusted to hang out in their little group, so he’s sitting by the couch sulking.

“Sayonara sucker.”

Baby Mason 011

His 6 month appointment went well- except for the shots.

He’s 17 lbs 9 oz, and 26 3/4 inches long- which are both in the 65th percentile. He’s getting so big on us! Guess that’s what happens, but it’s still pretty darn fast and we’re just not ready for it.

Hopefully I’ll take more pictures soon : )

We’re back!

Our “vacation” home went pretty well- Mason slept most of the plane rides (thank goodness) and that made it pretty nice. I brought my camera along, but unfortunately forgot to take pictures most of the time. I suppose it’s okay because other people took lots of pictures for us! I just wish Mason hadn’t have caught a cold… he’s just stopped the coughing, but his little nose is still a bit runny.

He is so close to crawling, and he can <almost> sit up by himself. He sits pretty well, which makes bath time SO much easier!

Anyway, here are some pictures:

Mason’s Christmas presents from us; he was happy in his bouncer, so that’s where he stayed.

Mason turns 6 months old in 9 days- I can’t believe it’s been 6 months already. He’s getting so big, we’re looking forward to seeing the differences from his 4 month checkup to his 6 month checkup.

Also, he’s been sleeping about 12 hours straight every night! He also just slept 1.5 hours in his crib for a nap! Now I can get sleep at night and get things done during the day. Another exciting bit of news (for us, anyway) is that we’ve been having family dinners at the table with Mason. He’s tried squash, green beans, and carrots so far, and he loves it! Of course, he normally gets a bath afterward because he is such a messy eater, but it’s so cute we don’t care.

Until next time!

Happy Holidays!

Here are the outtakes: Smile

We’re wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Oh, and here are some bonus, not-Christmas related pictures, cause you know you want them.

Baby Mason 001Baby Mason 003

Can you tell how excited he is about his hat and Reebok shoes?

Baby Mason 002

Someone found his feet… it makes diaper changing a blast.

Baby Mason 004Baby Mason 005Baby Mason 006Baby Mason 007

Mason also decided to start paying attention to the dogs. Up until now he pretty much ignored them, now he wants to pet them every time they come over (which is a lot.) We’re buying stock in hand wipes, since dog petting+hand eating= gross.

Baby Mason 008

Mason is laughing at everything lately, and is just the happiest kid. He rarely cries, and *hope I don’t jinx myself* is sleeping through the night! Also, he’s getting the hang of eating cereal off a spoon (whew) so we’re going to have to put that into his routine too… I’m trying to get him to nap in his crib now, instead of on me (what can I say, I’m an enabler!) or in his swing. We love that swing, but within the next few months he’ll be too big for it and I’d like to have him prepared for naps when that happens.

I’m not sure if we’ll be back on here before the holidays, so Happy Holidays to everyone! Stay safe!

Mason doesn’t like “real food” AKA cereal

And I can prove it:

Baby Mason 002

*Look at those blue eyes!

Baby Mason 003Baby Mason 004

That picture makes me laugh. Of course, he doesn’t like to even open his mouth for a spoon, so we’ll have to try again later since this is clearly not working. Oh well, guess that just means our food budget doesn’t have to grow yet Smile

BONUS PICTURE:

This is how Nathan lays Mason while he’s “watching” him. The little bugger actually likes laying like that. *PS Can you see our Christmas props for our Christmas cards? Oh you just wait. They are to. die. for.

Baby Mason 001

Mason just keeps making us smile; he squeals almost all the time, and is just such a happy baby! In fact, he’s been so happy he wants to share his happiness with us (okay, me) until midnight every night! How nice of him!! At least he sleeps past nine. And only wakes me up once in there (good boy). Anytime I see his pictures I wonder how he could be growing SO fast. Luckily he’s not growing out (yet) he’s just a looooong skinny baby (he doesn’t get his length from my side of the family Smile)

We’ve added a few newbies to his room, including the Twilight Turtle and Gentle Giraffe- the turtle’s shell lights up and casts stars and a moon onto the ceiling, and he loves to look at them! The giraffe has a soundbox in it with songs to keep him calm and white noise so he doesn’t hear the darn dogs clanking around (and shaking their collars all the time) but we use the mobile for that, and an awesome lullaby CD of Metallica (the Johnny Cash one is in the car. Gotta love all the things you buy to *try* to get baby to sleep. So far so good though, he chews on the giraffe as it makes Serengeti sounds on his changing pad. Whatever works, right?

Enough about that, I have a crying kid to take care of Smile

Mason’s first Thanksgiving

While Mason didn’t get to eat any turkey (or noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, pumpkin pie, or chocolate cream pie- boy, I made a lot of food), he got to try eating cereal off a spoon for the first second time (the first was before we cut a hole in one of his bottles for nighttime cereal feedings). I’d like to say he was a champ, but he could have cared less and kept giving us the ‘yucky’ face. Oh well, we’ll try again later. If he’s like his dad all we have to do is put some soda in there and he’ll be happy as a lark.

Here are our pictures for the week:

No, that’s not cherry pop. Poor kid got his 4 month shots and had a fever, so he was lucky enough to get Tylenol. He likes to spit it out.

Baby Mason 001Baby Mason 002

Here’s the start of our Thanksgiving pictures. Yep, they’re both passed out. Don’t worry, I was taking care of everything in the kitchen.

Baby Mason 003

We set Mason on the table in his Bumbo for dinner. He’s pretty content in it, and doesn’t mind sitting on the table Smile (Don’t worry, that sucker is tip-over proof, I swear.)

Baby Mason 004

He loves playing with his toys! Of course, he kept shoving the links off, then expecting me to pick them up (I’m nice, I did) and then shoving them off again. The little booger.

Baby Mason 005

Here we go!

Baby Mason 006

“This doesn’t taste as good as my hands…”

Baby Mason 007

“Ah, back to the good stuff”

Baby Mason 008

“Get me out of here!!”

End of pictures, due to this:
